CATARACT
PATIENT STORIES
Max McConvill:
Max had his eye operation on 24 July 2007 after developing cataracts
as a result of his diabetic condition.
Luckily thanks to early intervention we caught his eye deterioration
in its early stages making him an excellent candidate for cataract
surgery and lense implantations in both eyes.

To say we have our happy little terror back is an understatement.
Some notable changes since his surgery have been:
- He is now able to be walked off lead again as he can once again
confidently see gutters and cubs and any obstacles in his way
with ease.
- He's back to tormenting his local neighbourhood dogs and cats
in their various homes by barking at them when he sees them as
he passes their homes on his morning and afternoon walk.
- He has once again discovered the pleasure of my mother's garden
(much to her delight!) which he takes immense pleasure in getting
into and burying his bone in or upheaving her plants with ease.
- He can once again see when the backyard magpies come for a visit
to get some titbits, so he's back to chasing them away so he can
eat what has been put out there for them instead!

A big thank you to Dr Stanley and to all the nurses and staff at
Animal Eye Care who cared for Max. The fact that he was jumping
out of his skin to get in the door on all his follow up consultations
speaks volumes on how well you all treated him during his time there
as usually he has to be dragged into the door of our local vet!
